Making Connections

A lot can change in a month. Perspective is still everything. There’s only so much we get from online interactions. We need people in real life also. There’s so much more to the human connection. There’s a way we have to preserve humanity.

There’s much I have to do to try an help this happen. Laying out an actual plan may help. Finding others who are doing what I also am aiming for. Creating spaces for people. Of course there are local game cafes and bookstores. There are other people and groups where people are welcome to interact, but here are a few global ones that you might find intriguing:

Nerd Nite: Available in many cities around the globe. Check their website to see if there is a space where you can meet and greet other people who like to nerd out over different topics. A good place to listen to others and make friends.

Toastmasters International: A club where you may be able to go and listen for free, or pay a fee to get help being better at speaking and presenting to others. This can help build confidence and build friendships.

Lions Club International: A global community service group looking to aid others any way they can. Overall, there are global efforts that members work towards, but they accept volunteers on a local level who do not have to join.

Those are just a few global communities that people may reach out to in order to establish some connections in the real world. Are there any more groups you know of? Whether they are local or have a global reach, feel free to comment on it.

Next time, I aim to have a better plan for all of this. Thank you for bearing with me as I flounder to make this dream of unity through diversity a reality. May one day the puzzle of humanity be complete and we can then focus on the stars.
